About Bright Skies Bright Skies is a STEAM-based early education center serving infants through Pre-K. We build genuine relationships with the families we serve and hold a standard of care parents notice from the very first conversation. Our Belton center cares for up to 80 children across five classrooms, with a team of educators who bring science, technology, engineering, arts, and math to life through play-based learning. We prepare fresh meals on-site daily and keep parents connected in real time with photos and activity logs throughout the day. About the Role We're looking for an Assistant Director to help lead our Belton center alongside the Director. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who loves early childhood education and is ready to help run the day-to-day operations of a thriving center. You'll be a key part of maintaining our licensing standards, supporting and developing our teaching staff, and making sure every family feels the warmth and care that sets Bright Skies apart. When the Director is out, you'll step in to keep the center running smoothly. What You'll Do Partner with the Director to oversee daily operations across all five classrooms and serve as the on-site leader in the Director's absence Maintain full compliance with Missouri state licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and center policies Support, coach, and mentor teaching staff — including onboarding new educators, modeling best practices, and helping teachers grow Help manage classroom ratios, staff scheduling, and daily coverage Build strong relationships with families: handle enrollment conversations, tours, and day-to-day communication, and resolve concerns with care and professionalism Ensure classrooms deliver our STEAM-based, play-focused curriculum and remain safe, clean, and well-organized Support recordkeeping for children, staff, and licensing (immunizations, enrollment files, attendance, incident reports) Uphold health and safety practices, including First Aid, CPR, and Safe Sleep standards Help lead the center toward strong enrollment and a positive, supportive team culture What We're Looking For 3-5 years of experience in a licensed childcare or early education setting , with a track record of leadership or supervisory responsibility (director-track experience strongly preferred) Strong working knowledge of state childcare licensing requirements and health and safety regulations Experience coaching, supervising, or mentoring teaching staff Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both families and team members Highly organized, dependable, and calm under pressure Meets Missouri state requirements for a childcare Assistant Director role, including required education and background clearances CPR, First Aid, and Safe Sleep certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) A genuine passion for early childhood education and the well-being of young children Education & Certifications Coursework, a CDA, or a degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred Must be able to pass required background checks and meet all Missouri Family Care Safety Registry requirements Why Bright Skies You'll join a team that treats early education as more than daycare — a place where relationships come first and children are genuinely known and cared for.
