The Substitute Caregiver will be responsible for the general supervision and management of a group of children, and will be supervised, trained and evaluated by the Director . Responsibilities i nclude assisting the Primary Classroom Caregiver in providing a warm and nurturing environment in which children can grow physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually. Substitute Caregivers have flexible schedules based upon center needs and availability .
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide constant supervision of children in your care inside the center as well as outside on the playground, and on field trips Provide developmentally appropriate activities including, reading, art, music, and games Assist in preparing food for children and serve meals and refreshments to children Assist children in self-care routines (diapering, washing hands, changing clothes, etc.) Perform housekeeping duties such as laundry, cleaning/sanitizing, dishwashing, and changing of linens Support children's emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others Maintain confidentiality of child and family information Communicate to the Center Director observed safety, physical, and licensing issues immediately Attend all required staff meetings, functions and staff development opportunities Collaborate professionally and respectfully with other members of your team All other job related duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
Be able to lift up to 55 pounds Excessive climbing, walking, bending, stretching and sitting on floor with children Exposure to childhood illnesses and diseases Exposure to varying outside temperatures (heat and cold)
Qualifications Minimum:
A high school diploma or GED and previous experience working with children
Preferred:
