Full Job Description Job Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable childcare worker to care for children while parents and caregivers attend church services and other special events. This role provides attentive support in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with young children and committed to their care and well-being.

Duties:

Child Supervision:

Provide attentive care and supervision for children from birth through age four in the church nursery.

•

Positive Guidance:

Use provided resources and positive behavior-management techniques to foster healthy interactions, development, and Christian nurturing.

•

Health and Safety:

Maintain a clean, secure nursery environment and follow all health and safety requirements.

•

Family and Staff Communication:

Communicate clearly with parents, caregivers, and staff about each child's needs, progress, and any concerns.

•

Inclusive Care:

Create a welcoming environment by supporting children of diverse backgrounds and abilities with respect and consistency.

Skills:

•

Certification:

First aid certification is highly preferred.

•

Child Development:

Understanding of child development principles and age-appropriate practices.

•

Experience:

Previous childcare experience in a daycare, preschool, church nursery, or nanny/babysitting role is preferred.

•

Child Engagement:

Ability to engage effectively with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

•

Behavior Support:

Knowledge of positive behavior-management strategies that promote children's social and emotional development.

•

Communication and Commitment:

Strong communication skills for working effectively with children, parents, caregivers, and colleagues, along with enthusiasm for supporting children's care, development, and well-being during their early years.

•

Employment and Physical Requirements:

Must pass a background check; demonstrate punctuality and reliability in assigned responsibilities; have reliable transportation; and be able to safely hear, see, and lift up to 20 pounds.

• Pay is $22 per hour, with work performed in person in the nursery from 9-11 am every Sunday morning, and possible mutually agreed upon special church events.

Pay:

$21.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 2.0 per week
