Job Description
Overview St. Stephen Christian Preschool is seeking a nuturing and reliable Infant/Toddler Teacher to join our team. This role focuses on creating a safe, nurturing, and faith-centered environment for children ages 6 weeks to 3 years, while supporting their social, emotional, and developmental growth. This is a full-time position. Hours may vary based on center needs within our operating hours of 6:30 AM-5:30 PM, but will most often fall between 9:00 AM-5:00 PM. Age group assignments may vary, and flexibility is essential. Staff in this role may also be asked to support preschool classrooms as needed. Duties Provide attentive, responsive care to infants and toddlers, including feeding, diapering, and maintaining consistent daily routines. Create and implement age-appropriate activities that encourage development through play, exploration, and interaction. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment in accordance with licensing requirements. Closely supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being. Foster a nurturing, Christ-centered atmosphere through patience, kindness, and positive guidance. Build strong relationships with children, families, and coworkers. Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's day, development, and needs. Work collaboratively with team members to support smooth classroom operations and a unified approach to care. Observe and document children's development and milestones. Follow all center policies, health and safety guidelines, and state regulations. Requirements Experience working with infants, toddlers, or in a childcare setting preferred. Understanding of early childhood development, especially ages 0-3. Flexibility and willingness to support different classrooms, including preschool, as needed. Strong communication and teamwork skills. A nurturing, patient attitude and a heart for serving children and families. Dependability and a positive, growth mindset aligned with the values of St. Stephen Christian Preschool. Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting, bending, and active engagement with young children. Education High school diploma or equivalent required.
