Monday-Friday with open availability between 6:00 AM and 5:30 PM No Weekends | No Federal Holidays | PTO Eligible | Referral Bonus Program About the Role We are seeking a dependable, professional, and energetic Floor Lead to support our leadership team and help maintain the daily operations of our childcare center. This position serves as an extension of management by assisting the Director and Assistant Directors with staffing, classroom operations, parent communication, and ensuring the center runs each day efficiently. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and families, thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates initiative, and values teamwork, organization, and leadership. Position Overview The Floor Lead works throughout the center providing operational support wherever it is needed. Depending on the assigned shift, this position may be responsible for opening the center, coordinating staffing, supporting classrooms, assisting families during drop-off and pick-up, or closing the facility at the end of the day. The Floor Lead helps ensure classrooms remain compliant with Missouri DESE licensing regulations while maintaining a welcoming, safe, and organized environment for children, families, and staff. Key Responsibilities Welcome children and families each morning and assist with classroom drop-off and transitions. Help ensure children are safely checked in and escorted to the appropriate classroom. Coordinate daily classroom assignments and teacher placements based on staffing and enrollment needs. Assist with opening procedures to ensure the center is prepared for the day. Support the Director and Assistant Directors with daily operational needs. Provide classroom coverage and assist teachers throughout the day as needed. Monitor classroom ratios, schedules, and compliance with Missouri DESE licensing regulations. Ensure classrooms are following daily routines, schedules, and company expectations. Assist with parent questions and concerns while maintaining professional communication. Support Brightwheel operations, including attendance, messaging, activity logs, daily reports, and classroom documentation. Ensure activity logs and required documentation remain accurate and up to date throughout the day. Promote a positive, welcoming, and professional environment for children, families, and employees. Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe facility. Coordinate classroom closings by combining classrooms as enrollment decreases while maintaining required staff-to-child ratios. Assist with afternoon dismissal by safely reuniting children with their families. Coordinate teacher dismissals and end-of-day staffing needs. Verify classrooms are cleaned, sanitized, stocked, and prepared for the following business day. Support licensing visits, special events, staff training, and operational improvements. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director or Assistant Directors. Qualifications Previous childcare, education, leadership, or customer service experience preferred. Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment. Reliable, punctual, professional, and team-oriented. Demonstrates initiative and a willingness to lead by example. Passion for early childhood education and supporting children, families, and coworkers. Must meet Missouri childcare licensing requirements. Must be willing to work any scheduled shift between 6:00 AM and 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, based on the operational needs of the center.
