Duties Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote literacy, math, physical activity, and social-emotional skills aligned with early childhood education standards. Manage classroom activities to ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for children of various ages, including toddlers and preschoolers. Use effective behavior management techniques to support positive behavior and address challenges constructively. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones through meetings or written updates. Maintain accurate records of children's attendance, developmental assessments, and incident reports in compliance with mandated reporting laws. Incorporate specialized educational strategies such as Montessori or other pedagogical approaches to enhance learning experiences. Collaborate with team members to plan lessons that incorporate physical education, arts, literacy education, and other enrichment activities to support holistic development. Requirements Prior experience working with children in daycare or preschool settings is essential; classroom experience is highly valued. Knowledge of child development principles, early intervention strategies, special education needs, and childhood welfare practices. Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; ongoing training in child safety protocols is preferred. Strong communication skills for effective parent engagement and teamwork within the educational staff. Familiarity with classroom management techniques, behavior management strategies, and standardized testing methods for early learners. Ability to develop creative lesson plans that foster curiosity while supporting individual learning styles. Experience teaching physical education or tutoring young children is a plus; familiarity with Montessori methods is desirable.
