Position:
Family Tree Nurturing Center is seeking a compassionate and dependable professional to serve in a combined role as an Infant/Toddler Teacher and Family Doula . This full-time position is designed for someone who is passionate about supporting families during pregnancy, birth, postpartum recovery, and early childhood. The employee's regular schedule will be based primarily on the staffing and ratio needs of Family Tree's childcare center. Designated work time will also be provided for doula services, including client communication, prenatal and postpartum visits, childbirth education, respite care, care coordination, documentation, and other approved family-support activities. Because labor and birth are unpredictable, occasional schedule adjustments may be needed when providing birth support. These adjustments will be coordinated with program leadership and childcare staffing needs. The successful candidate must be able to communicate promptly, plan responsibly, and work collaboratively across both programs. Family Tree is willing to support the right candidate in obtaining both a Child Development Associate credential and approved doula training or certification.

children's development, behavior, and individual needs Assist with feeding, diapering, toileting, rest, personal hygiene, and other daily care routines Plan and participate in age-appropriate learning activities and active play Foster secure, positive relationships with infants and toddlers Communicate respectfully with parents and caregivers and provide appropriate updates Prepare food and support Family-Support Responsibilities Doula responsibilities will be scheduled around program needs and may include: Establish supportive, respectful, and professional relationships with doula clients Conduct approved prenatal and postpartum visits Provide approved respite care for infants and children during designated doula and family-support services, allowing parents or caregivers time to rest, recover, attend appointments, or address essential needs Provide evidence-informed education about pregnancy, labor, birth, postpartum recovery, infant care, feeding, and family adjustment Help clients identify their birth preferences and prepare questions for healthcare providers Offer continuous emotional, physical, and informational support during labor and birth when assigned Provide comfort measures and nonmedical coping support within the doula scope of practice Support and respect each client's autonomy, cultural background, values, and informed decisions Connect families with appropriate community resources and Family Tree programs Coordinate services with Family Tree staff and community partners, with appropriate client consent Maintain client confidentiality and follow all applicable privacy requirements Document client contacts, services, respite care, time, outcomes, referrals, and follow-up needs accurately and promptly Complete documentation required for program reporting, grants, or Medicaid billing when applicable Maintain clear professional boundaries and remain within the nonmedical scope of doula practice Participate in doula supervision, case consultation, training, and continuing education Communicate promptly with supervisors regarding client needs, birth-support responsibilities, respite-care assignments, and possible schedule changes Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED At least 18 years of age Willingness to work toward and maintain qualifications in both early childhood education and doula care Ability to provide compassionate, nonjudgmental, and trauma-informed support Strong communication, organization, documentation, and teamwork skills Dependable attendance and ability to communicate promptly about pregnant, postpartum, or parenting families Experience with infants and toddlers Knowledge of trauma-informed care, child development, family-strengthening practices, or community resources Community Health Worker training or related family-support experience Experience completing professional case notes or service documentation Bilingual abilities or experience serving families from diverse Scheduling Expectations This is a full-time position. The regular work schedule will be determined primarily by childcare staffing and licensing-ratio requirements. Time for prenatal visits, postpartum visits, respite care, client communication, documentation, training, and other doula responsibilities will be approved and coordinated with program leadership. Some doula services may occur outside the childcare center or outside regularly scheduled classroom hours. Labor and birth support may require occasional evening, overnight, weekend, or holiday availability when the employee has accepted an on-call assignment. On-call assignments, after-hours expectations, schedule adjustments, and compensation will be explained before assignments are accepted.
