In this role, you will support the growth and development of toddlers and preschool-aged children through developmentally appropriate learning experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity, independence, and confidence. You will plan and implement meaningful activities that promote children's cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development while recognizing and supporting each child's individual needs. Responsibilities Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities that support early literacy, math, physical development, social-emotional learning, and other foundational skills. Create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels safe, supported, and valued. Use positive guidance, behavior management, and classroom management strategies to encourage appropriate behavior and healthy social interactions. Observe, assess, and document children's developmental progress using appropriate assessment tools and observational methods. Maintain open and professional communication with parents and guardians regarding children's progress, development, classroom experiences, and overall well-being. Manage daily classroom routines, including learning activities, meals, transitions, rest periods, outdoor play, and age-appropriate care. Identify developmental or behavioral concerns and support early intervention strategies when appropriate. Follow all company policies and applicable state licensing requirements, health and safety standards, and childcare regulations. Promptly document and report incidents, injuries, safety concerns, or other matters affecting children's health and well-being. Use inclusive teaching practices and appropriate special education strategies to support children with diverse abilities and learning needs. Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and engaging classroom environment. Actively supervise children in the classroom, on the playground, and during transitions and other activities. Collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators, families, and community partners to provide high-quality care and education. Qualifications Previous experience working with young children in a childcare center, daycare, preschool, Montessori program, private school, or similar setting. Strong understanding of child development, developmentally appropriate practices, curriculum planning, and classroom management. Experience with positive behavior guidance, special education, or early intervention is preferred. Current First Aid and CPR certification is required. Knowledge of mandated reporting requirements and child safety practices. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, colleagues, and administrators. Ability to plan and facilitate engaging learning experiences that support children's cognitive, language, social-emotional, and physical development. Ability to actively supervise, interact with, and respond to children's needs in both indoor and outdoor environments. Ability to participate in moderate to vigorous physical activity associated with caring for young children, including sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, and moving throughout the classroom and playground. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds as needed to safely care for children and perform essential job responsibilities. Certification, coursework, or formal training in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Montessori education, or a related field is highly desirable.
