A Preschool or Childcare Teacher works with young children, usually ages 3 - 5, to help them learn the social, motor and language skills needed to be ready for kindergarten and elementary school. Organizes activities and uses play or games to help children learn; develops schedules and routines for children that include exercise and rest. Works in a school or in a childcare center or program.
Gifted Stars Christian Academy is seeking a dependable, caring, and creative Preschool/Kindergarten Teacher to join our small-school community. Our classrooms typically serve only 5-6 students, allowing teachers to build strong relationships and provide individualized instruction.

Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
Pay:
$14.50-$16.00 per hour, depending on verified experience

275 Carpenter Hill Ln., Cary, NC 27519 Start date: As soon as possible Primary Responsibilities Create and implement engaging daily lessons, activities, and classroom routines Develop age-appropriate curriculum for preschool and kindergarten students Adapt instruction and activities to meet each child's academic, developmental, behavioral, and social-emotional needs Maintain a safe, nurturing, organized, and inclusive classroom Use positive classroom-management strategies Communicate professionally with families, staff members, therapists, and school leadership Track student progress and share observations with families and the school Prepare classroom materials and maintain an inviting learning environment Support the Christian values and mission of Gifted Stars Christian Academy Qualifications Experience teaching or working with preschool or kindergarten-aged children Strong reliability, punctuality, and daily commitment Consistent attendance with little to no call-outs or unexpected schedule changes Comfortable supporting students who may have disabilities or individualized learning needs Comfortable collaborating with therapists or other support professionals who may work with students inside the classroom Ability to create lesson plans and adjust instruction for different learning levels Calm, patient, flexible, and professional when handling challenging or stressful situations Strong classroom-management and communication skills Willingness to complete and maintain required virtual trainings Ability to pass a criminal background check Reliable transportation Early-childhood education credentials, teaching experience, or related coursework preferred The ideal candidate is dependable, compassionate, organized, and passionate about helping young children learn and grow.
