Duties Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans focused on early childhood education principles, including literacy, math, physical activity, and social skills. Lead daily classroom activities that encourage exploration, creativity, and learning through play. Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques and effective behavior management strategies to create a nurturing environment. Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate children's progress, milestones, and any concerns with clarity and professionalism. Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and support staff to ensure high-quality childcare and educational standards are maintained. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and health & safety regulations, including first aid and CPR certifications. Conduct ongoing assessments of child development using standardized testing tools to tailor instruction and support individual needs. Maintain detailed documentation of lesson plans, child observations, and incident reports to support continuous improvement in classroom management. Requirements Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings, particularly with toddlers aged 1-3 years old. Strong background in curriculum development, child development instruction, and classroom management techniques. Knowledge of special education practices, early intervention strategies, and childhood welfare standards. Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners effectively. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing professional development in early childhood education is highly valued. Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare. Experience teaching physical education or literacy education is a plus; a passion for fostering holistic child growth is essential.
