In this vital role, you will serve as a primary educator responsible for creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. Your leadership will ensure that each child's educational journey is enriching, inclusive, and aligned with early childhood education standards. You will collaborate with families, support staff, and community partners to foster a positive atmosphere that promotes growth, curiosity, and a love of learning from the earliest stages of development. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans that incorporate best practices in early childhood education, including literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods where applicable. Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that supports toddler care, preschool experience, and special education needs. Manage classroom activities to promote active learning, positive behavior management, and social-emotional development. Conduct ongoing assessments of children's progress through standardized testing, observations, and informal evaluations to tailor instruction effectively. Collaborate with families to communicate children's developmental milestones and coordinate early intervention strategies when necessary. Maintain detailed lesson plans and classroom management records in accordance with program guidelines and state regulations. Foster a team-oriented environment by mentoring assistant teachers and supporting staff in implementing effective teaching strategies. Skills Extensive knowledge of childhood development principles and early intervention techniques. Proven experience in curriculum development tailored to preschool-aged children with diverse needs. Strong classroom management skills to maintain an organized, respectful learning environment. Ability to work effectively with children across various age groups, including toddlers and preschoolers. Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, families, and team members clearly and empathetically. Familiarity with standardized testing procedures related to early childhood education assessments. Experience in behavior management strategies that promote positive social interactions. Knowledge of special education practices and accommodations for children with additional needs. Competence in lesson planning that integrates literacy education, math concepts, physical activities, and Montessori techniques where appropriate. Prior classroom experience in daycare settings or private schools is highly desirable. Applicants MUST have B-K Licensure. Salary is based on number of years on your License.
