Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and energetic School Age Group Leader to inspire and supervise children during after-school hours. This role is vital in creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and develop essential social skills. As a School Age Group Leader, you will need to be dependable, able to show teamwork, and engage with fun-filled learning experiences. Your enthusiasm and leadership will help foster a positive atmosphere that encourages children's curiosity and confidence. Hours are 2-6pm daily and full time days when school is out and Summer. More hours available for younger children at times to cover rooms when staff are out or on vacation. Duties Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Manage classroom or activity space effectively through strong classroom management techniques Develop and implement creative lesson plans, games, arts and crafts, outdoor activities, and youth group programs that align with developmental goals and implement them Enforce behavior management policies to promote respectful interactions and positive conduct among children Maintain accurate attendance records, incident reports, food logs and activity logs in compliance with safety protocols Must have or get first aid and CPR within 3 months of hire. Must have BSAC or able to take class upon hire Collaborate with parents, guardians, and team members to support each child's individual needs and developmental progress Facilitate outdoor work activities safely while encouraging physical activity and teamwork. Experience Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare settings is highly preferred Demonstrated classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behaviors effectively Knowledge of childhood development principles and experience applying behavior management strategies Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation (Automated External Defibrillator), and familiarity with first aid protocols required or obtainable upon hire Background in special education or working with children with special needs is a plus Previous outdoor work experience or camp experience that involved supervising children in active environments is desirable Join us as a School Age Group Leader to make a meaningful impact on children's lives through energetic leadership and dedicated care.
