Curriculum Coach/ Center Director/Assistant Director Position Summary:
The Lead Toddler Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating a developmental curriculum for infants from 6 weeks 18 months , specifically using the Creative Curriculum approach. This role involves ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of each child in a nurturing and educational environment. The Lead Toddler Teacher will also communicate with parents and work collaboratively with other staff members to create a cohesive and supportive community.Key Responsibilities:
1.Curriculum Development and Implementation:
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and lessons based on the Creative Curriculum framework that promote physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Use a variety of teaching methods and materials to engage children and accommodate different learning styles, emphasizing exploration and discovery.
- Create a structured yet flexible daily schedule that includes a balance of active and quiet activities, indoor and outdoor play, and individual and group experiences.
Classroom Management:
- Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and stimulating learning environment.
- Ensure that all classroom equipment and materials are in good condition and used appropriately.
- Supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages children to interact respectfully and cooperatively.
Child Assessment and Documentation:
- Observe and assess each child's development regularly, documenting progress using Creative Curriculum assessment tools.
- Prepare developmental reports and communicate findings with parents during conferences or as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of each child's activities, routines, and milestones.
Parent Communication and Involvement:
- Establish and maintain open, honest, and respectful communication with parents.
- Share information about the child's progress, daily activities, and any concerns.
- Encourage parent involvement in classroom activities and school events.
- Address parent questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
Team Collaboration and Professional Development:
- Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to plan and implement school-wide programs and events.
- Mentor and support assistant teachers and volunteers, providing guidance and feedback as needed.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education and the Creative Curriculum approach.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and other school-related events as required.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain attendance records, incident reports, and other required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing and accreditation standards, as well as school policies and procedures.
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of classroom newsletters and other communications.
Qualifications:
- Must have Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- State certification or credential in early childhood education (e.g., CDA, Montessori Certification).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare setting.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education, with specific experience in the Creative Curriculum.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry children up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to sit on the floor, bend, squat, and perform other physical activities as needed for child care.
- Ability to spend extended periods of time outdoors in various weather conditions.
Work Environment:
- The position involves working in a classroom setting with young children, which can be noisy and busy.
- Occasional evening or weekend trainings may be required for school events or professional development.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$14.00- $17.
