Triad Christian Academy is seeking to hire a preschool I teacher that is nurturing, loving, patient, and knowledgeable in teaching the foundations of early childhood education, and is qualified to teach in a child care program with completion of required documentation from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). We are seeking a preschool I teacher that can help fulfill the mission of our program, which is to offer quality child care and preschool education to children ages six weeks to twelve years in an atmosphere which cultivates and nurtures strong Judeo-Christian values. The desired goal of our program is to establish a Christian environment that is loving, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate for each child. The age group for preschool I is 2-3 years old. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to : 1. Establish a partnership with your co-teacher to follow the daily schedule of the classroom and foster good classroom management. 2. Provide adequate direct supervision for a group of up to 18 children. 3. Plan, prepare, and implement a written weekly activity plan of age appropriate and stimulating learning activities that reflect the curriculum of the academy. 4. Gear the classroom program to meet the needs of individual children with respect for their interests, special needs, talents, and learning style. 5. Communicate regularly with the parents/guardians about their child's academic progress, behavior, and social development in a professional manner. 6. Follow a diapering changing schedule for children who have not started toilet training. 7. Introduce children to toilet training, collaborate with parents to establish a toilet training plan, and implement the plan in the classroom. 8. Treat children with dignity, respect, and lots of love and attention. 9. Be a role model for language, manners, attitude, body language, etc. for the children and help them to practice the same. 10. Participate in professional development opportunities on a regular basis. 11. Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Director.
Requirements :
1. Candidate must obtain a valid qualifying letter from the Division of Health and Human Services. 2. Candidate must obtain a physical exam from a medical doctor. 3. Candidate must obtain a negative tuberculosis (TB) skin test.
Education and Experience :
A minimum credential of Intro to Early Childhood (EDU 119) is a plus. An associates degree or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development (Preferred). At least three years of experience teaching preschool aged children in a child care program. (Preferred).
