Job Description ECU Department of Human Development and Family Science is currently seeking several Nancy W. Darden Child Development Center Preschool Assistants.

Daily responsibilities include:
  • Sign in/out Daily in CDC and Banner Systems to record time worked
  • Prepare AM snacks, lunch, and PM snacks for classrooms as needed
  • Clean and sanitize observation booths and headphones daily
  • Clean observation booth windows weekly
  • Daily playground check for debris before children enter playground
  • Prepare toys inside for play area on rainy days
  • Collect laundry from classrooms when needed
  • Operate washer/dryer daily
  • Wash and sanitize dishes
  • Rinse dishes before entering dishwasher
  • Operate dishwasher/put dishes away
  • Assist in distributing and serving lunch
  • Prepare AM and PM snacks for toddler and preschool classrooms
  • Wash and sanitize counters with the 3-step process: Soapy water, water, and DBK solution
  • Clean the top, outside and inside of microwave
  • Once a week rearrange and clean the refrigerator (only heavy things and juice on very bottom of refrigerator)
  • Stack all empty crates for future use
  • Dry cups bone-dry for future use in classroom
  • Collect soiled dishes and toys from classroom daily
  • Clean classroom counters and tables
  • Copying, filing, typing as needed
  • Answer phones GPA Requirement Minimum of 2.0

Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.) All applicants are welcome. Preference will be given to applicants majoring in Human Development and Family Science ( HDFS).
