Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with young children. As a teacher at Catawba Ridge Child Development Center, you will create a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters the social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children. You will be responsible for implementing age-appropriate curricula and engaging activities that promote learning through play. Responsibilities Create and maintain a clean and safe environment for all children Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom Ensure the safety, well-being and emotional needs of each child Develop and implement weekly lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards Engage children in hands-on learning experiences encouraging exploration and curiosity Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their social skills and emotional growth Collaborate with other educators and staff to support the overall development of each child Maintain classroom organization and cleanliness to ensure a conducive learning atmosphere Communicate effectively with families regarding their child's development and classroom activities Establish a professional level of rapport with each family in order to provide quality care for the children Stay updated on best practices in early childhood education Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 1 year experience working in a licensed child care center Security Clearance from the State of North Carolina A passion for working with children Preferred Qualifications Degree or certification in Early Childhood Education or a related field Completion of Early Childhood Education courses (e.g., EDU 119) Familiarity with caregiving techniques and special education practices Knowledge of first aid procedures Benefits Quarterly sick pay Accrued paid time off Discounted childcare Paid trainings Professional development assistance Health insurance Tuition reimbursement Employee assistance program Catawba Ridge Child Development Center was founded with the mission to provide quality daycare and nurture happy, successful children in a safe and loving environment. At Catawba Ridge CDC, we allow children to have hands-on learning experiences. This fosters age appropriate development. We read to the children everyday. We believe that positive reinforcement is important for children to develop self-esteem. Children need an environment that supports free expression and stimulates learning. We opened in 1985 as a seven room 4500 square foot facility. By 1988 the demand for our services was such that we expanded to our current size of nineteen classrooms and over 13,000 square feet. We currently have space to enroll 250+ children, however our commitment to four star quality child development and low child-to-staff ratios will keep our enrollment under 200.At Catawba Ridge CDC, we believe that children need to have fun, because that is when they learn the best! We make sure that every child is involved in stimulating activities everyday. We implement a curriculum that includes a variety of activities which integrate physical, intellectual, and social-emotional stimulation. This curriculum will provide developmentally appropriate activities which stimulate the child's growth. Our Approach to Education At Catawba Ridge Child Development Center, each day, we provide a balanced approach to learning. Our goal is to give you peace of mind that your child will have fun as he/she develops socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. We give your child the tools to become confident, self-aware, and to develop to his/her fullest potential. Our staff of passionate and engaging teachers give your child endless opportunities to grow, learn, and imagine. Weather they are building a spaceship to blast off to Mars or sharing a story during group time, the opportunities are endless. Our curriculum is more than just a plan on paper or in manuals. We believe curriculum is everything that happens in the classroom, from interactions and meals to singing and playing. We never miss an opportunity to educate. We teach life skills that go beyond reading, writing, art, and math. Our classrooms are filled with educational toys to help develop motor skills and teaches lessons about sharing with friends. We will sing songs while we are washing hands which instills an interest in the arts while forging social bonds and educating children about the need for good hygiene. Each activity is designed with specific lesson or outcomes in mind.
