Wonder Academy is a new creative arts preschool in the Indian Trail, NC area seeking full time and part time employment for the following positions: Early Preschool Lead Teacher (2's) (Candidate MUST have EDU 119) CPR & First Aid (Preferred) Job Summary All teachers are responsible for providing quality care and early childhood education to children infants to twelve years of age while fulfilling our mission of unlocking children's natural gifts through play, movement, and the arts in a quality learning environment. If you have child care and education skills and know safety and first aid techniques, you would be a valuable addition to our team of dedicated preschool teachers and child development specialists. We need someone like you, who enjoys working in an environment where quickly adapting to changing conditions and rapidly assessing the needs of young students are important and necessary skills. Job Responsibilities Prepare lessons that meet educational requirements in an age-appropriate manner, and teach in a manner suitable for the ages of all participating students. Give your all each day to fulfill our mission of unlocking children's natural gifts through play, movement, and the arts in a quality learning environment. Manage a busy classroom environment, and provide the structure and discipline required for successful learning for everyone in the classroom. Help children meet educational milestones through personalized instruction and other supplementary assistance. Collaborate with other teachers, instructors, and staff members to create an optimal learning and care environment. Provide helpful feedback to parents and guardians on a regular or as-needed basis. Work with diverse populations of children and adults from a wide variety of cultural, linguistic, and religious backgrounds. Prepare lesson plans for students according to the age, developmental maturity, and needs of the children being taught, while including fundamental vocabulary, simple shapes, basic colors, letters, and numbers into the curriculum. Address basic interpersonal skills, such as sharing, taking turns, and asking permission Implement 5-Part Curriculum infusing movement and art for utmost learning exposure Job Skills and Qualifications (Specifics contingent upon position)

Required:

Candidate MUST have EDU 119 completed and additional EDU coursework Current North Carolina CBC Qualifying Letter Knowledge of North Carolina Rules/ Regulations Ability to develop lesson plans that meet educational standards Familiarity with classroom management skills Experience working with children with exceptionalities Submit to a criminal background check upon hire

Preferred:

Teaching degree or certificate in early childhood education preferred Ability to plan, lead, and participate in activities involving children, and lift up to 50 pounds At least two years' prior experience in a preschool environment Existing completion of NCECC
