Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Childcare Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children. This position involves working closely with infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children, supporting their developmental needs and fostering a love for Christ. The Childcare Worker will collaborate with other staff members to ensure the well-being of each child through safe play environment while assisting their participation in Sunday School learning and church activities as needed. Responsibilities Supervise and engage with children in a safe and caring environment. Implement age appropriate Sunday School curriculum during church. Assist with daily routines including feeding, diapering, and play time. Maintain a clean and organized classroom or nursery space. Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's spiritual progress and any concerns. Monitor children's behavior and implement positive behavior management strategies. Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities to meet their individual requirements. Collaborate with other nursery workers and church staff to foster a safe, welcoming environment. Demonstrate a strong Christian character that allows for Children to learn and exhibit Biblical principles. Skills First aid certification is preferred. Experience in special education or working with individuals with disabilities is advantageous. Proven experience working with children in various settings such as daycare, nursery, or as a nanny/babysitter. Ability to manage a classroom effectively while maintaining a positive atmosphere. Excellent communication skills to interact with children, parents, and colleagues. Patience, empathy, and the ability to respond to children's needs promptly. Knowledge of behavior management techniques to support children's emotional well-being. Other Information Pay is commensurate with experience and certifications. Must be willing to submit to a background check and complete CPR and Ministry Safe Training in accordance with church policies. Must be able to work consistently on Sundays and on some weekdays to facilitate childcare for the life of the church body.
