Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans that align with early childhood education standards, incorporating literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods where appropriate. Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and independence among toddlers and preschool-aged children. Manage daily classroom activities, including lesson planning, behavior management, and classroom organization, to ensure a smooth and engaging learning experience. Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through clear communication and collaborative efforts. Conduct assessments and utilize standardized testing to monitor each child's progress, adjusting teaching strategies to meet individual developmental needs. Support children with special education needs and participate in early intervention programs to promote inclusive learning. Incorporate child welfare practices, ensuring safety, health, and emotional support for all students. Lead activities that promote physical development, social skills, and emotional regulation, including tutoring and teaching physical education. Maintain detailed records of student progress, attendance, and behavioral notes, ensuring compliance with licensing and accreditation standards. Stay current with best practices in childhood development, classroom management, and early childhood education through ongoing professional development. Engage in parent-teacher conferences, providing updates on student progress and strategies for continued growth at home. Collaborate with team members to plan special events, themed activities, and classroom projects that enhance learning experiences. Qualifications EDU 119 or education related to the early childhood field (required) Proven experience working with children in early childhood education settings, including preschool and daycare environments. Strong knowledge of childhood development, behavior management, and classroom management techniques. Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing literacy and math education. Familiarity with special education, early intervention, and inclusive teaching practices. Knowledge of Montessori methods and experience with standardized testing and assessment tools. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect effectively with children, parents, and team members. Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom, foster positive behavior, and create an engaging learning environment. Prior experience in private schools or daycare centers is preferred.
