Lead Teacher Job Summary Wee Folk Childcare is seeking a passionate, dependable, and experienced Lead Teacher to join our team. The Lead Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom where children can learn, grow, and thrive. This role provides leadership within the classroom by planning developmentally appropriate activities, mentoring assistant teachers, maintaining a positive learning environment, and building strong relationships with children and families. Responsibilities Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans and daily activities. Foster children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development through play-based learning. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets North Dakota licensing requirements. Lead and support assistant teachers while promoting teamwork and a positive classroom culture. Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers through open communication. Observe and document children's progress and communicate milestones or concerns with families. Manage classroom behavior using positive guidance and age-appropriate behavior management techniques. Ensure all health, safety, and licensing regulations are followed at all times. Participate in staff meetings, training, and ongoing professional development. Assist with daily routines including meals, toileting, rest time, outdoor play, and transitions. Qualifications Previous experience working in a licensed childcare center or preschool preferred. Strong knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices. Excellent classroom management and organizational skills. Ability to lead a classroom while working collaboratively with a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain). Must meet North Dakota childcare licensing requirements. Reliable, professional, energetic, and passionate about early childhood education. Why Join Wee Folk Childcare?
