Part Time Childcare Worker (Mayville State Students Only)
Location:
Mayville, NDPosition Details:
Mayville State University Child Development Programs is hiring Childcare Workers who are responsible for providing classroom educational services to children ages 0-5. The purpose of this position is to assist the classroom teacher with the care and supervision of children enrolled in the program, along with performing basic childcare related duties. Childcare workers do not have guaranteed hours, but are called on an as needed basis when the sites are short staffed or need additional coverage for special events. Although there are not guaranteed hours, childcare workers are called on a regular basis.
Job Duties:
Cares for the needs of children including dressing, feeding, and playtimeOrganizes games and recreational activities for child in a group settingTeaches activities, such as arts and craftsEncourages children's emotional, social, and physical development, and positive self-conceptImplements developmentally appropriate disciplinary measures in the classroom and facilityTeaches children personal and healthy habits such as eating, resting, and personal hygieneCleans and sanitizes toys, furniture, and play equipmentMaintains records on individual children including daily observations, activities, meals served, and medications administered
Minimum Requirements:
Excellent communication skills with parents, teachers and other childcare workersAbility to be patient and understanding when working with children and interacting with parentsAbility to relate to children and make the childcare facility an enjoyable atmosphereDesire to make a difference in children's lives
Compensation:
Dependent upon education
High School Diploma:
$17.00/hourCDA certificate: $17.50/hour2-year education degree: $18.00/hour4-year education degree: $19.00/hourWe offer flexible hours Monday - Friday, no evenings, no weekends and holidays off.
Background Checks:
Hiring is contingent upon the ability to pass a University background check along with a State/FBI Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
