Job Overview The Head Start Preschool program is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Head Start Preschool Teacher. This role is vital in providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. The ideal candidate will be committed to promoting early childhood education while ensuring that each child receives personalized attention and support. Responsibilities Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with Head Start curriculum standards. Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning. Assess children's progress through observations and assessments, adjusting teaching strategies as needed. Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues to support the overall development of each child. Collaborate with parents to discuss their child's progress and provide resources for at-home learning. Maintain accurate records of children's attendance, developmental milestones, and assessments. Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of early childhood education best practices. Requirements An AA or BA in Early Childhood Education or a related field Strong understanding of child development principles and early childhood education practices. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative in planning activities. Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
