Little Shepherds Kidz Place A childcare program of Mount Carmel Home Position Summary Little Shepherds Kidz Place is seeking a dependable, caring, and dedicated childcare teacher to join our team. We are looking for someone interested in becoming a long-term member of our childcare program and making a positive difference in the lives of the children we serve. This is a great opportunity for college students, particularly those studying early childhood education, elementary education, or a related field. The childcare teacher is responsible for providing attentive, nurturing care while maintaining a safe, clean, and engaging environment. Duties include assisting with meals, diapering, toileting, dressing, lesson planning, supervising play, and planning developmentally appropriate activities.

Minimum Qualifications Applicants must:

Be at least 18 years old Have a high school diploma or equivalent Have at least 1,500 verifiable hours of experience working directly with children or have completed at least three college credit hours in education Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain a safe, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate play environment. Supervise and monitor children during classroom activities, meals, rest periods, outdoor play, and outings. Assist children with dressing, diaper changes, potty training, eating, resting, and personal hygiene. Plan and carry out age-appropriate preschool lessons, activities, crafts, games, songs, and learning experiences. Read to children and provide opportunities for painting, drawing, music, imaginative play, and hands-on learning. Support children's emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development. Model positive behavior and encourage kindness, cooperation, independence, and respect for others. Help children communicate directly and appropriately with one another. Use positive and age-appropriate behavior guidance techniques. Encourage children to care for their belongings and help pick up toys, books, and classroom materials. Observe children for possible emotional, behavioral, or developmental concerns and report concerns to the Childcare Director. Communicate professionally with parents and guardians regarding children's daily activities, meals, behaviors, progress, and concerns. Maintain required records, including attendance, daily observations, activities, meals, medications, and other classroom documentation. Organize and store toys, supplies, and materials to keep activity areas safe and orderly. Clean and sanitize toys, play equipment, bottles, classroom surfaces, and childcare areas. Perform routine housekeeping duties, including laundry, dishes, changing linens, and general classroom cleaning. Sterilize bottles and prepare formula according to established procedures. Participate in recreational activities, special events, games, walks, and field trips. Encourage and assist with appropriate intergenerational activities between the children and residents of Mount Carmel Home. Complete general administrative duties, including taking attendance, maintaining internal paperwork, and making necessary phone calls. Perform other duties as assigned by the Childcare Director.
