  • Full-time Pre-K Lead Teacher Zimmer Preschool | Basking Ridge, NJ At Zimmer Preschool, we believe the best teachers do more than prepare children for kindergarten—they inspire curiosity, foster independence, build meaningful relationships, and create a classroom where every child feels capable, valued, and excited to learn.
We are seeking an experienced, passionate Pre-K Lead Teacher who sees teaching as both an art and a responsibility. Our ideal candidate is a reflective educator who creates intentional learning experiences, guides children with warmth and confidence, and finds joy in following children's ideas while thoughtfully expanding their learning. Responsibilities Create a warm, engaging classroom environment where children feel safe, respected, and inspired to explore. Plan meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity, problem-solving, and independence. Foster strong classroom routines and positive behavior through connection, consistency, and clear expectations. Observe children's interests and development, using those observations to support curriculum development. Communicate the children's learning with parents through daily Brightwheel posts, documentation displays, and learning updates. Build strong partnerships with families through ongoing communication. Collaborate with fellow teachers and school leadership to create a positive, supportive school community. Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment that reflects children's learning. Qualifications Degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field. Experience teaching in a preschool or Pre-K classroom. Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practice. Excellent classroom management and relationship-building skills. Organized, dependable, flexible, and collaborative. A genuine love for working with young children and helping them discover the world around them. Experience with inquiry-based or child-led learning is a plus, but most importantly, we are looking for a teacher who is curious, intentional, collaborative, and committed to creating an exceptional learning environment for children.
