Job Description

Job description: Our Preschool Teachers should be patient, dependable, nurturing, and enthusiastic about early childhood education. Candidates should be comfortable managing the active demands of a preschool classroom while remaining attentive to the individual needs of each child. Teachers must be able to multitask, actively participate in classroom and playground activities, maneuver comfortably on the floor, and safely lift or assist children as needed. Our Teachers are responsible for the daily direction and overall supervision of their classroom. Using Creative Curriculum and the resources provided by Zadie's, teachers work collaboratively with fellow educators and leadership to create meaningful learning experiences that support each child's physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development. The ideal candidate brings positive energy, patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with young children. Preschoolers come to the classroom with different personalities, abilities, interests, and needs, and our teachers are expected to recognize and support each child as an individual. A gentle, nurturing approach is essential as teachers help children build confidence, independence, communication skills, and positive relationships with their peers. Key Responsibilities Create a warm, safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment. Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and activities using Creative Curriculum. Encourage learning through play, exploration, conversation, and hands-on experiences. Support children's social-emotional development, including communication, cooperation, problem-solving, and positive peer interactions. Observe and respond to the individual developmental needs, interests, and abilities of each child. Establish consistent classroom routines and use positive, age-appropriate behavior guidance. Maintain active supervision and ensure the health and safety of all children in the classroom, on the playground, and during other activities. Work collaboratively with co-teachers, support staff, and school leadership. Maintain open, respectful, and professional communication with children, families, and team members. Maintain an organized, clean, and inviting classroom environment. Follow all Zadie's policies, procedures, and applicable health and safety requirements. Our teacher must be a team player, energetic, flexible, and have a love for children. The teacher will be required to maintain all requirements through the NJ Department of Children and Families, maintain a minimum of 25 training hours per year as well as possess a valid CPR/First Aid certification at all times.
Qualifications:
Child Development Association Certificate (CDA) and/or relevant experience Must be able to work 40 hours per week
