Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a professional and reliable office assistant to join our childcare program. The ideal candidate must be a team player and have strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), as well as clerical experience. Our office assistant will be an integral member of our school community, and therefore should enjoy working with children, building relationships with parents, engaging with teachers and being flexible
Duties:
Greet visitors, teachers, and families with a friendly disposition and smile Answer questions with proper etiquette over the phone or in-person Call enrolled parents to communicate necessary information, gather feedback, and answer questions Review and maintain paper and electronic student and staff files, enrollment packets, office binders and keep records up to date Substitute in classrooms as needed Understand different age groups that are offered and the age and developmentally appropriate activities that correspond to each Understand, abide by, and carry out all company policies as stated in the Employee and Parent Handbooks Attend and participate in all staff meetings Manage classroom supplies inventory Follow up with tours through emails and phone calls Provide proactive support in the classroom Understand, abide by, and carry out all licensing procedures, including but not limited to fire drills, NJ State, and health departments, etc.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos Ability to write simple correspondence Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the school
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Classroom Management:
Ability to work with a variety of age groups (birth-5) as needed General Knowledge of NJ regulations for
