Toddler Lead Teacher The Growing Tree Children's Academy is looking for a dependable, energetic, and nurturing Toddler Lead Teacher to join our team! We are seeking an experienced early childhood educator who genuinely enjoys working with toddlers and can create a safe, structured, engaging, and loving classroom environment. Our ideal candidate is patient, organized, reliable, and confident taking the lead in a busy toddler classroom. Responsibilities As a Toddler Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for: Creating a warm, welcoming, and nurturing classroom environment Providing active supervision of children at all times Planning and implementing age-appropriate, play-based lesson plans and activities Leading circle time, art, sensory activities, music and movement, gross motor activities, and learning centers Maintaining a consistent classroom routine and daily schedule Encouraging language development, social-emotional skills, independence, and positive behaviors Using positive redirection and age-appropriate classroom management techniques Completing diapering and assisting with toileting while following proper sanitation procedures Maintaining accurate name-to-face attendance throughout the day and during transitions Ensuring proper teacher-to-child ratios are maintained Keeping the classroom clean, organized, sanitized, and developmentally appropriate Communicating professionally and positively with parents regarding their child's day and development Completing daily communication and classroom documentation as required Working collaboratively with assistant teachers, administration, and other staff members Following all center policies, health and safety procedures, and New Jersey childcare licensing requirements Participating in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development Helping create a positive, supportive, and team-oriented school environment Qualifications We are looking for someone who: Has previous experience working with toddlers in a childcare center, preschool, or early childhood setting Has strong classroom management and organizational skills Is comfortable taking responsibility for and leading a classroom Is patient, dependable, energetic, and nurturing Has excellent communication and teamwork skills Understands the importance of active supervision and child safety Is able to get on the floor, lift children when necessary, and actively participate in classroom activities Is willing to complete all required background checks, trainings, and licensing requirements Is CPR/First Aid certified or willing to become certified Has a CDA, early childhood education coursework, or related credentials — preferred What We're Looking For We want a teacher who understands that the toddler years are an important time for learning, exploration, language development, and building independence.
