We are seeking a dependable, flexible, energetic, patient, and professional Daycare Floater who enjoys working with children of different ages and is comfortable assisting in multiple classrooms throughout the day. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player who is willing to step in wherever additional classroom support is needed. Position Summary The Daycare Floater provides classroom assistance throughout Little Bees Daycare based on the daily needs of the center. Unlike a teacher assigned to one permanent classroom, the Daycare Floater may work in different classrooms throughout the day to provide additional supervision and support. This may include assisting during staff breaks, lunches, classroom transitions, busy periods, staff absences, or whenever a classroom needs additional assistance. The Daycare Floater must be flexible, dependable, comfortable adapting to different classroom routines, and able to provide consistent, nurturing care to children across different age groups. Job Responsibilities Provide additional classroom coverage and support wherever needed throughout the center. Move between classrooms based on staffing needs and direction from the Directors. Assist teachers and classroom staff with maintaining proper supervision of children. Provide coverage for teachers during scheduled breaks and lunch periods. Assist classrooms when additional staff support is necessary. Provide temporary classroom coverage when a staff member is absent or unavailable. Become familiar with the schedules, routines, expectations, and procedures of different classrooms. Provide attentive and appropriate supervision of children at all times. Maintain a safe, clean, organized, nurturing, and welcoming classroom environment. Assist teachers with age-appropriate educational activities, lessons, crafts, sensory activities, music, movement, reading, and play. Participate in faith-based activities, including age-appropriate Bible stories, prayer, songs, and character-building lessons. Assist children with meals, snacks, diapering, toileting, handwashing, rest time, and other daily routines as appropriate for the assigned age group. Help with classroom transitions, including arrival, departure, meals, outdoor play, rest time, and movement between activities. Help children develop positive social skills, independence, manners, kindness, and appropriate classroom behavior. Use positive and developmentally appropriate behavior guidance techniques. Follow the direction of the Daycare Floater or classroom teacher while providing assistance in an assigned room. Maintain active supervision during classroom activities, meals, rest periods, outdoor play, and transitions. Assist with preparing and cleaning up classroom activities and learning materials. Clean and disinfect toys, tables, classroom materials, and frequently used surfaces as needed. Follow proper diapering, toileting, handwashing, cleaning, and sanitation procedures. Monitor children for injuries, illness, behavioral concerns, or safety concerns and immediately report concerns to the appropriate teacher or Director. Assist with classroom documentation and daily reports when requested. Communicate professionally and respectfully with children, parents, teachers, coworkers, and Directors. Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, employees, and center information. Follow all emergency, evacuation, security, and safety procedures. Participate in indoor and outdoor activities with children. Participate in emergency drills, staff meetings, orientation, training, and professional development. Follow all Little Bees Daycare policies and applicable New Jersey childcare licensing requirements. Perform other childcare-related duties assigned by the Directors. Classroom Flexibility Because this is a Floater position, applicants must be comfortable working with different age groups and adjusting to different classroom environments. Depending on the needs of Little Bees Daycare, the Floater may be asked to assist with: Infants Toddlers Preschool/Pre-K children The Hive or other activity areas Classroom transitions Staff lunch and break coverage Opening or closing classroom support Temporary classroom coverage Special activities and center-wide events The Floater should be able to enter a classroom, understand the teacher's needs, follow the established routine, and provide helpful support without disrupting the classroom environment.

Qualifications Preferred candidates should have:

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous daycare, preschool, teaching, babysitting, camp, youth program, or childcare experience preferred. Experience working with multiple age groups is a plus. Ability to comfortably work with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and other young children as assigned. Ability to adapt quickly to different classrooms, schedules, teachers, and routines. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Patience, flexibility, dependability, professionalism, maturity, and a positive attitude. Ability to follow directions from Directors, Head Teachers, and classroom teachers. Ability to work independently when necessary while also functioning effectively as part of a team. Genuine passion for caring for and working with children. Ability to work respectfully within a faith-based childcare environment. Ability to meet all applicable New Jersey childcare employment and licensing requirements. Employment Requirements Candidates selected for employment must be willing and able to complete all required onboarding, documentation, training, and clearances, including: Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) fingerprint/background check, when applicable. Child Abuse Record Information (CARI) background check. Required health documentation. Required childcare orientation and training. CPR/First Aid certification as required or requested. Required professional development and ongoing training. Any additional documentation, education, training, or clearances required by Little Bees Daycare or New Jersey childcare licensing regulations. Physical Requirements Applicants should be able to: Sit on the floor and actively interact with children. Frequently bend, kneel, stand, walk, and move throughout the center. Safely lift, carry, or assist young children when necessary. Assist with diapering and toileting when assigned to classrooms requiring those duties. Move between classrooms throughout the workday. Participate in indoor and outdoor activities. Set up and clean classroom activities and learning materials. Maintain active supervision throughout the workday. Respond quickly and appropriately during emergencies.
