Position Overview:
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join one of our classrooms. You will create engaging, age-appropriate lessons, foster child development, and maintain a safe, nurturing environment. This role is ideal for educators who are passionate about teaching and interested in developing leadership skills.
Schedule:
Part-time:
6-8 hours per day Includes 30-60 minute lunch break
Key Responsibilities:
Provide a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for children Plan, implement, and lead age-appropriate lessons and activities Observe, document, and assess children's development and progress Build strong partnerships with parents and families through consistent communication Mentor and support assistant teachers and aides when needed Maintain classroom routines, organization, and cleanliness Assist with meals, feeding, diapering, and potty training as needed Contribute to program improvement initiatives
Qualifications & Skills:
Previous experience in childcare, early childhood education, or teaching CDA, Associate's degree, or higher preferred Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, or inspire others is a plus Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood best practices Ability to create a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills Patience, empathy, and professionalism in all interactions Familiarity with special education needs is a plus Commitment to TCLA's values: integrity, safety, community, and care
