This role works closely with the Center Director to ensure excellence in program quality, staff performance, and overall center operations. The Assistant Director plays a key role in maintaining a structured, nurturing, and high-quality environment for children, while also supporting staff, managing administrative responsibilities, and building strong relationships with families. This is an ideal opportunity for a strong leader who is organized, proactive, and looking to grow into a Director-level role. Duties Support daily center operations and assume leadership in the Director's absence Supervise, coach, and support teaching staff to maintain high performance Ensure compliance with NJ licensing regulations , health, and safety standards Assist with enrollment, tours, and family communication Manage staff schedules and classroom ratios Oversee billing, tuition collection, and enrollment/booking systems Maintain accurate records and assist with administrative tasks Support a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment Requirements Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field Minimum 3+ years of experience in a licensed child care center At least 1 year of leadership experience (Lead Teacher or higher) Strong knowledge of NJ licensing regulations and compliance requirements Experience with tuition billing, enrollment management, or child care software systems Proven ability to lead staff, stay organized, and multitask effectively Strong communication and problem-solving skills' Bilingual (English/Spanish) Nice To Haves Director's Credential (or willingness to obtain) Experience with Brightwheel, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Google Drive CPR/First Aid Certification Bilingual (English/Spanish) Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Opportunities for growth into a Director role Supportive and professional work environment Ongoing training and development Paid time off Professional development assistance Tuition reimbursement About Us Bright Beginnings Learning Academy
