Job Description
Do you love music, have a high-energy personality, and enjoy working with young children? Valencia School of Music is seeking an enthusiastic and engaging music teacher to lead our KidzRock program for children ages 4-7, while also building a roster of private lesson students, as well as taking on private students. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher or musician who enjoys combining music education with a rock band setting and performances. KidzRock introduces young children to guitar, drums, keyboards, singing, rhythm, and ensemble playing in a fun, rock-band environment. Our students perform in live showcases and develop confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong love of music. Pay is based on experience. Responsibilities
- Teach KidzRock group classes for preschool through 1st-grade students
- Lead fun, structured, high-energy classes that keep young children engaged
- Introduce students to guitar, drums, keyboards, singing, rhythm, and basic music concepts
- Teach private lessons in one or more instruments and/or voice
- Prepare students for performances with their band
- Communicate professionally with parents regarding student progress
- Maintain a positive, encouraging, and organized learning environment
- Participate in staff meetings and ongoing teacher training Qualifications
- Must have experience teaching young children ages 4-7
- Ability to play guitar chords (open and power chords), sing and confidently lead groups of children
- Energetic, outgoing, and reliable personality
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Availability for weekday afternoons and Saturdays from 10-3
- Previous teaching experience required
- Degree in music, music education, or related field preferred but not required Ideal Candidate You are someone who can walk into a room of six excited kids, grab a guitar, start a song, and instantly create an engaging musical experience.
