Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Head Start Teacher to inspire and nurture young children in a dynamic early childhood education environment. In this role, you will create engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans that foster growth in literacy, math, social-emotional skills, and physical development. Duties Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including Montessori methods if applicable Facilitate engaging classroom activities that promote literacy education, math skills, physical education, and social-emotional development Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies while creating a nurturing environment Conduct ongoing child development assessments to monitor progress and tailor instruction accordingly Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate records of student attendance and development Incorporate special education strategies and early intervention techniques to support children with diverse learning needs Maintain a safe classroom environment by adhering to health and safety protocols including first aid and CPR certification Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, classroom management techniques, and curriculum enhancements Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, preschool teaching methods, and innovative educational practices Experience Proven experience working with children in early childhood or preschool settings, preferably within Head Start or similar programs Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development across various domains such as literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning Experience implementing classroom management strategies that foster positive behavior and engagement Knowledge of special education principles, early intervention strategies, and childhood developmental milestones Familiarity with standardized testing procedures for young children and assessment tools for monitoring progress Prior experience working with diverse populations of children including toddlers and preschoolers is highly desirable Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with families, team members, and community partners Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing training in child welfare practices is preferred Join us as a Head Start Teacher to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners!
