Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Child Care Assistant to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will support the development and well-being of young children by creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment. Your enthusiasm and caring nature will help foster positive growth, learning, and social skills in children across various age groups, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers or caregivers in implementing daily activities that promote childhood development, including play, learning exercises, and social interactions Support children with their personal needs such as feeding, diapering, and hygiene routines in a respectful and caring manner Ensure a safe environment by supervising children at all times and maintaining cleanliness and organization of the classroom or daycare area Engage children in age-appropriate activities that foster cognitive, emotional, and physical growth Help manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement and gentle guidance, supporting behavior management strategies Communicate effectively with children to encourage language development and social skills Follow all safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary, to ensure the well-being of every child Skills Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, nannying or babysitting roles Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices Ability to provide infant care and toddler care with patience and attentiveness Familiarity with classroom management techniques to maintain a positive learning environment Strong caregiving skills combined with excellent communication abilities Certification or training in first aid is highly preferred; experience with special education or working with individuals with disabilities is a plus Demonstrated ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining a lively and supportive atmosphere Join us in nurturing the next generation by providing compassionate care and fostering joyful learning experiences! •This is a Group Family Daycare regulated by the NYS Office of Family and Children Services•
Pay:
$16.50 - $20.00 per hour
