Job Summary Join our vibrant childcare team as a Substitute Daycare Assistant, where your energy and dedication will make a meaningful difference in the lives of young children. In this role, you will step into dynamic classroom environments to support daily activities, supervise children, and ensure a safe, nurturing space for early childhood development. Whether covering for staff absences or assisting with special programs, your enthusiasm and flexibility will help create a positive learning atmosphere for every child. Duties Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development Assist with classroom management and behavior guidance to foster a respectful and safe environment Support teachers with lesson implementation, play-based learning, and developmental assessments Ensure the safety of children through vigilant supervision and adherence to safety protocols including pediatric first aid and CPR procedures Communicate effectively with parents about their child's day, progress, and any concerns while maintaining confidentiality Maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials and play areas Follow mandated reporting laws by recognizing signs of child abuse or neglect and reporting appropriately when necessary Experience Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or similar caregiving roles is highly preferred Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus Classroom experience in early childhood settings or daycare centers enhances your ability to adapt quickly Familiarity with child supervision techniques, behavior management strategies, and classroom management tools Certification in first aid and CPR (pediatric first aid preferred) or willingness to obtain upon hire Strong communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration Join us as a Substitute Daycare Assistant to help foster joyful learning experiences while building your career in early childhood education.
