Job Description

DC-4 welcomes applications for a Teacher to join the Infant Classroom. The teacher is responsible for planning daily classroom activities, arranging equipment appropriately, maintaining various records as required, meeting fire and safety requirements and assuring that equipment is safe, clean and appropriate for the child's age and ability. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: Being accountable for the assigned classroom. Responsible for designing and maintaining a neat and inviting learning environment appropriate to each child's development. Supervising those individuals who are working in the classroom, such as the assistant teacher, teacher's aide, volunteers, student participants, and substitutes. Coordinate planning and carry out activities collaborating with the Director, Center Managers, and other center staff. Developing individualized plans to meet the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual long term goals for each child. Participation in workshops, classes, and groups as required.
Requirements:
Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, or a related field OR Child Development Associate (CDA)credential OR Willingness to submit and complete a Plan of Study appropriate to the position. (Tuition assistance may be available to those working on a Plan of Study.) Two-years of experience related to caring for 1.5 and/or 2 year old children
