Responsibilities Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards. Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching. Plan individual and group age appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth. Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent teacher confrences. Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques, ensuring a safe and respectful environment. Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met. Ensure a healthy classroom environment-including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety of children, as well as maintaining a clean classroom and bathrooms including sweeping/mopping floors, and cleaning sinks/toilets in classrooms. Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standards. Maintain accurate records, forms, files- including but not limited to attendance, health checks, lesson plans, and child assessments. Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement. Must complete 15 hours of training per year as required by NYS Office of Child and Family Services. Prior experience working with children in a preschool or daycare setting is highly preferred. Educational Requirements Must minimally possess a Bachelors Degree with NYS Teaching Certification Must be 16 years or older- Must be 18 years or older to be left without supervision.' Must be able to pass and maintain regulatory requirements of NYS Office of Children and Family Services. Physical Requirements Must have the ability to take frequent walks and easily reach a child in need/danger. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl. Must have no lifting restrictions.

Pay:

$21.44 - $29.25 per hour
