Position Summary The Infant Room Teacher is responsible for creating and maintaining a warm, responsive, and stimulating environment for children ages 6 weeks to 18 months. The ideal candidate is patient, attentive, knowledgeable about infant development, and committed to supporting each child's individual needs. Key Responsibilities Provide attentive, nurturing care to infants in a safe and engaging classroom environment Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities aligned with New York State early childhood guidelines Support infants' cognitive, physical, language, and social-emotional development Maintain consistent daily routines including feeding, diapering, and nap schedules Conduct regular observations and document developmental progress Communicate effectively and professionally with families regarding their child's growth and daily activities Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment in compliance with all state regulations Collaborate with colleagues and participate in staff meetings and professional development Ensure compliance with all licensing and health and safety requirements in

New York State Qualifications Required:

At least 9 college credits in Early Childhood Education , Child Development, or a related field OR A valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credential

Preferred:

Experience working with infants in a licensed childcare setting Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Strong communication and teamwork skills Knowledge of New York State childcare regulations Skills & Competencies Warm, patient, and responsive care-giving style Strong understanding of infant development milestones Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and engage in active care-giving tasks Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor Commitment to inclusive and family-centered practices
