Full-Time | Monday-Friday Job Overview Shiloh & Shalom Family Daycare (SSFDC) is seeking a passionate, reliable, organized, and energetic Daycare Manager/Lead Childcare Provider to support the daily operations of our home-based childcare program. SSFDC serves children ages 6 months-10 years and provides full-day childcare, AM care, and after-school care. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and is comfortable balancing childcare, staff supervision, parent communication, administrative responsibilities, and daily program operations. We are looking for someone who demonstrates compassion, positivity, patience, kindness, integrity, dependability, gentleness, and self-control . The ideal candidate is also creative/artistic, highly organized, flexible, punctual, and able to take initiative. Responsibilities Assist with overseeing the daily operations of the childcare program. Supervise, guide, and support childcare staff while promoting teamwork and professionalism. Coordinate classroom coverage, staff breaks, daily routines, and activities. Provide hands-on care and active supervision for children ages 6 months-10 years , including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged children. Step into classrooms and provide coverage whenever needed. Plan and support creative, educational, artistic, and developmentally appropriate activities . Support feeding, diapering, toileting, nap/rest time, homework, transitions, outdoor play, and other daily routines as needed. Use positive behavior-management techniques and support children's social-emotional development. Maintain a safe, clean, organized, nurturing, and stimulating environment . Communicate professionally with parents regarding children's daily experiences, behavior, development, and program needs. Assist with attendance, record keeping, children's files, supplies, calendars, field trips, and special events. Help ensure compliance with

childcare regulations , health and safety requirements, mandated reporting responsibilities, and program policies. Support staff training, development, and implementation of childcare best practices. Assist with AM/after-school transportation and field trips when qualified and assigned. Perform other duties necessary to support the successful daily operation of the program. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent - REQUIRED Previous childcare/daycare experience - REQUIRED Experience working directly with young children. Strong understanding of child supervision, positive behavior management, and age-appropriate childcare practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Must be reliable, punctual, dependable, and flexible . Ability to multitask and remain calm in a busy childcare environment. Ability to lead and support a team while also being willing to perform hands-on childcare duties. Ability to work with children across multiple age groups, from infancy through school age . Must be willing to complete and maintain all required childcare trainings and certifications. Must demonstrate patience, kindness, professionalism, good judgment, and appropriate self-control when working with children, families, and staff. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a Lead Teacher, Daycare Manager, Assistant Director, Supervisor, or other childcare leadership role . Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field. CPR/First Aid certification. Experience working with children with developmental, behavioral, or special needs. Bilingual English/Spanish. Valid NYS driver's license with a good driving record.
Schedule & Pay Pay:
$22.00-$25.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Full-time schedule may consist of:
Four 10-hour workdays per week , OR Five 8-hour workdays per week This position operates Monday-Friday . A regular day off may be established upon hire; however, flexibility is required , and schedules may occasionally vary based on staffing, transportation, field trips, special events, and overall program needs. Candidates with a valid NYS driver's license who are approved to assist with AM/after-school transportation, field trips, and other transportation needs may be eligible for additional compensation/pay differential .
