Part-Time After Care Teacher Pay:
$17.50 per hour
Hours:
Monday - Friday 2:15-5:15pm
Start Date:
Tuesday, September 8th, 2026
End Date:
Thursday, June 10th, 2027
Job Description:
Montessori of New Paltz is seeking a dedicated After Care Teacher to teach our after school program. This role requires someone who is a team player, adores working with children, and can plan age appropriate activities. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's growth while working in a collaborative team setting. Interviews begin July 20th, 2026. Training begins the week of August 24th.
Duties:
Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, including arts, crafts, movement, and educational games Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques Maintain a clean and organized environment conducive to learning and play Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary Collaborate with other staff members to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for children of diverse backgrounds Support student needs by adapting activities and providing individualized attention when required
Qualifications:
Ideal candidate has a degree or is pursuing a degree in early childhood/childhood education or has experience working with children Knowledge of behavior management strategies Certification in first aid and CPR preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire Passion for nurturing children's growth and creating an engaging learning environment This position is ideal for individuals committed to fostering children's development through compassionate supervision and creative programming.
