Responsibilities Support lead teachers by assisting with lesson planning, curriculum development, and implementing educational activities aligned with preschool standards. Foster a safe, welcoming environment by engaging children in age-appropriate learning experiences focused on literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional development. Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement techniques and effective behavior management strategies. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share updates on children's progress, behaviors, and developmental milestones. Assist with classroom organization, including preparing materials, setting up learning stations, and maintaining cleanliness and safety protocols. Support children with special needs by implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and participating in early intervention initiatives. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and uphold child welfare standards at all times. Contribute to ongoing assessments through standardized testing or informal evaluations to monitor developmental progress. Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and collaborative planning efforts to enhance teaching practices. Experience Prior experience working directly with young children in preschool or childcare settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices. Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies suitable for early learners. Knowledge of special education needs, early intervention programs, and mandated reporting laws is advantageous. Previous experience supporting children with diverse needs, including toddlers or children requiring additional behavioral support. Strong communication skills for effective parent engagement and teamwork within educational environments. Certification in first aid and CPR is desirable; ongoing professional development in early childhood education is encouraged.
