Overview Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a dedicated Daycare Teacher or Teacher Assistant! Duties Create a warm, welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration and discovery for children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote childhood development, early learning skills, and social interaction Provide attentive childcare and supervision during activities, meals, naps, and playtime to ensure safety at all times Use classroom management techniques to guide positive behavior and address behavioral challenges with patience and consistency Administer basic first aid when necessary and follow health protocols to maintain a clean, safe environment for all children Collaborate with parents and guardians to share progress updates, discuss individual needs, and foster strong communication Support children with special needs or disabilities by implementing inclusive teaching strategies aligned with best practices in special education Maintain accurate records of daily activities, developmental milestones, attendance, and incident reports Experience Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting, or similar caregiving roles is highly valued Demonstrated classroom experience Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; ongoing training in early childhood education or special education is advantageous Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while maintaining a flexible, energetic approach to caregiving
Requirements:
Candidate MUST have minimum of High school diploma/ equivalent. Must be able to work a varying schedule- days/ hours will vary day-day, some weeks may be part time and others may be full time. This is a daycare center, so you would be working with children ages 6 weeks - 12 years old. This is NOT a babysitting job, so you MUST be motivated and interact with the children. This job starts off at New York State minimum wage. You will also have to be fingerprinted and State cleared.
