Job Description

Before & After-School Child Care Worker

Lakeland Children's Center is Hiring for the 26/27 School Year.
THIS IS NOT A SUMMER POSITION, WE OPERATE THE SCHOOL YEAR ONLY.
This is a part-time position, the PM hours are approximately 2PM-5PM (some flexibility) and the AM hours are 6:45-8:15. Applicants do not need to work both shifts! To assist the Director in operating the daily activities of the Center program. To be a member of the team who shares responsibility for the care and education of an assigned group of children in the program. Works with the schedule to guide children in their activities. Must love kids and be a team player!
What You'll Do:
Be a role model
  • Kids look up to you (literally). Help create a safe, positive, and fun environment. Stay active
  • If you like sitting at a desk all day… this isn't the job for you. You'll be moving, playing, and keeping up with energetic 5-10-year-olds! Assist with activities & projects
  • Think arts and crafts, games, and creative play. Keep things running smoothly
  • Help with setup, cleanup, and keeping the space safe. Learn as you go
  • Follow instructions, pick up new skills, and grow in the role. Be part of a team
  • Work alongside awesome staff who care about kids just as much as you do. Stay prepared
  • Be familiar with emergency procedures (don't worry, we'll train you). Maintain professionalism
  • Follow policies, report concerns, and respect confidentiality.

Qualifications:
MUST LOVE KIDS!
  • Experience with children in a childcare or classroom setting a plus
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles a plus
  • Previous experience in nannying, babysitting, or caregiving
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with students
