Job Description

St. Ignatius of Antioch The Preschool Teacher at St. Ignatius of Antioch Elementary School serves as a vital spiritual and academic leader, cultivating a nurturing, Christ-centered Pre-K classroom. Operating within the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland framework, this educator blends play-based early childhood practices with daily Gospel values, preparing young children for transition into a diverse society. This position reports to the St. Ignatius of Antioch Lead Teacher/Director of Preschool.
Range:
$33,500 - $35,000
Core Responsibilities Faith Integration:
Model a living Catholic faith, leading students in daily prayer, age-appropriate scripture reflections, and seasonal liturgical experiences.
Curriculum:
Execute engaging, play-based thematic lessons that satisfy the Diocese of Cleveland Office of Catholic Education Graded Course of Study alongside Ohio Early Learning Content Standards.
Classroom Management:
Maintain a secure, clean, and organized environment utilizing Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP) across indoor and outdoor learning spaces.
Student Supervision:
Actively manage and protect the physical, social, and emotional safety of preschool students, and overseeing your classroom aide
Family Partnership:
Establish welcoming communication with parents via the Digital Academy portal, regular newsletters, and parent-teacher conferences.
Qualifications & Requirements Education:
Valid State of Ohio teaching license (Pre-K or Early Childhood P-3 designation preferred) with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in education.
Experience:
1 to 3 years of classroom teaching experience strongly desired, with a strong preference for backgrounds in faith-based settings.
Safe Environment:
Current VIRTUS Protecting God's Children training completion and adherence to the Diocesan Policy for the Safety of Children.
Background Check:
Satisfactory clearance on federal (FBI) and Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) fingerprint checks.
Health & Safety:
Valid certifications in First Aid, CPR, Communicable Disease prevention, and Child Abuse recognition.
Physical Ability:
Capability to sit on the floor, kneel, bend, and lift or move up to 50 pounds during daily classroom activities.
