Job Overview Ready to make a real difference in children's lives? We're looking for an energetic, compassionate Daycare Director Assistant to join our close-knit team at Chubby Cheeks Early Education Center in Delaware, Ohio. You'll be the backbone supporting daily operations, partnering with our Director to create a nurturing, stimulating environment where young minds thrive. You'll manage staff coordination, lead parent engagement, and have the capability to run our entire daycare operation independently when needed. Responsibilities Partner with the Daycare Director to execute smooth daily operations and keep classrooms buzzing with engaging activity Jump in to support teachers—manage behavior with patience, supervise children with attentiveness, and set up learning spaces that spark curiosity Bring curriculum to life with age-appropriate activities that honor each child's developmental stage and celebrate early learning milestones Keep our center a safe haven by staying sharp on health, safety, and compliance—first aid, pediatric CPR, and licensing standards are your baseline Coordinate staff scheduling, coverage, and day-to-day management to ensure consistent, quality staffing across all classrooms Build and maintain strong parent relationships through transparent, proactive communication—celebrate wins, share developmental insights, address concerns with empathy, and keep families informed and engaged Champion documentation that captures each child's unique growth story and contributes to our center's compliance and excellence Stay current on mandated reporting laws and licensing requirements, ensuring every decision prioritizes child safety and legal compliance Be prepared and capable of running entire daycare operations independently when needed—from classroom management to parent communication to administrative tasks What We're Looking For Hands-on experience working with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers (minimum 1 year in similar role) Real knowledge of early childhood development and evidence-based teaching practices Strong classroom management skills—you know how to redirect behavior and build a positive learning culture Proven experience with staff scheduling, coordination, and management—you keep people organized and accountable Exceptional communication skills with both parents and staff—you listen, respond thoughtfully, and build trust naturally Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, and Pediatric First Aid Dedicated and dependable—you show up, follow through, and take ownership of your responsibilities without needing constant oversight Genuine patience, empathy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure while supervising children responsibly Capability to operate the daycare independently—you're self-directed, problem-solve on the fly, and handle multiple priorities with confidence Commitment to understanding mandated reporting laws and maintaining the highest ethical standards
Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
