Job Description

The Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that supports the developmental needs of young children. This position focuses on fostering social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth through developmentally appropriate practices, play-based learning, and intentional instruction. The Preschool Teacher works collaboratively with staff and families to ensure each child is supported in reaching their full potential. Responsibilities Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with early childhood standards and best practices Create a structured, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and independence Support children's social-emotional development, including self-regulation, communication, and relationship-building skills Observe, assess, and document student progress; maintain accurate records and portfolios Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including those with identified special needs Establish and maintain strong communication with families regarding student progress and classroom activities Collaborate with paraprofessionals, specialists, and administration to support student success Ensure compliance with all licensing, health, and safety regulations Maintain a clean, organized, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment Participate in professional development opportunities and staff meetings Proficiency in utilizing ETR/IEP information to design and implement clear, individualized daily lesson plans tailored to each student's needs. Knowledge and experience working with students with complex needs Expertise in conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans Completion of Safety-Care training or willingness to do so
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (or as required by state licensing) Valid state teaching license/certification for early childhood education. Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices Ability to create a safe and supportive learning environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred:
Experience teaching in a preschool or early childhood setting Experience working with diverse learners, including students with special needs Training in early childhood assessment tools and curriculum frameworks CPR/First Aid certification
Physical Demands:
Ability to frequently stand, walk, sit on the floor, and engage in active play with children Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds Frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching Ability to respond quickly to ensure student safety Ability to supervise children both indoors and outdoors
Working Conditions:
