The Goddard School in Independence is looking for a dependable, experienced and highly adaptable School Leadership & Classroom Support Specialist to work closely with our School Director. This is a unique position for someone who understands licensed childcare, enjoys a fast-paced environment and is comfortable moving between office responsibilities, teacher support and classroom coverage throughout the day. This is not a traditional office-only position and it is not a basic classroom floater role. The right person will help manage projects, support school operations, train and coach teachers, spend time in classrooms improving practices and step into a classroom for several hours or a full day when coverage is needed. This is a full-time, Monday-through-Friday position. The person hired must be available to help close the school every day and must be able to remain until 6:15 p.m. when needed. There is no flexibility regarding closing availability. The exact starting time may vary based on the final schedule and school needs, but candidates must be consistently available through 6:15 p.m. Monday through Friday. What This Position Includes The person in this role will work closely with the School Director and leadership team to support the daily operation of the school.

Responsibilities may include:

Helping the School Director manage projects and school priorities Following up on assigned tasks and ensuring projects are completed Helping organize schedules, materials, training and classroom support Assisting with staff onboarding and ongoing teacher training Spending time in classrooms observing, modeling and coaching teachers Helping teachers improve classroom management, routines, supervision and engagement Providing teachers with respectful, practical and clear feedback Supporting curriculum implementation and developmentally appropriate classroom practices Helping new employees learn school expectations, procedures and routines Checking classrooms for organization, safety, cleanliness and compliance Assisting with teacher documentation and classroom systems Stepping into classrooms when a teacher is absent, on vacation or attending training Providing classroom coverage for several hours or an entire day when needed Supporting classroom transitions, breaks and staffing needs Helping manage the end of the school day Communicating professionally with teachers, leadership and families Answering phones and helping with basic office responsibilities when needed Remaining calm and productive when priorities change unexpectedly Jumping in wherever help is most needed The responsibilities of this position may change throughout the day. The right candidate must be comfortable moving from an office project to teacher coaching and then into a classroom without becoming frustrated by changing priorities. Experience Required Previous experience in a licensed childcare center is required. The strongest candidates will have experience as one or more of the following: Lead Teacher Mentor Teacher Curriculum Coordinator Education Coordinator Assistant Director School-Age or Preschool Program Coordinator Childcare Administrator Classroom Trainer Experienced Infant, Toddler or Preschool Teacher Candidates should understand the daily realities of licensed childcare, including: Active supervision Teacher-to-child ratios Classroom routines Diapering and toilet learning Family communication Classroom documentation Staff attendance and coverage Health and safety procedures Teacher training and accountability Supporting children with challenging behaviors Maintaining calm during a busy school day Candidates without meaningful licensed-childcare experience will not be considered for this position. This role requires regular flexibility. The person hired may be asked to: Cover a teacher's break Help during a difficult part of the classroom day Assist when a classroom needs additional support Cover several hours because of an appointment or early departure Work in a classroom for a full day because of an illness or planned vacation Support any age group based on qualifications and school needs Candidates should not apply if they are only interested in office responsibilities or are uncomfortable being assigned to a classroom.

Pay:

$17.00 - $22.00 per hour
