Job Overview We are building our substitute Montessori teacher list to serve in our primary, elementary, and/ or middle school classrooms. In this role, you act as an observer and guide supporting the independent and self-directed work of the child. Your attention and adaptability will ensure that routines are maintained and the environment is peaceful and respectful. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on children's developmental journeys while collaborating with experienced educators and learning about the Montessori method. Responsibilities Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and maintaining a respectful learning environment Follow mandated reporting laws to ensure child safety and well-being at all times Collaborate with lead teachers and staff to uphold consistent classroom routines and instructional strategies Manage classroom behavior using proactive strategies tailored to children's individual needs, including those with autism or special education requirements Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that supports independent learning and exploration Experience Prior experience working with children in education settings is important Familiarity with Montessori teaching methods is preferred Experience working with individuals with special education needs is a plus Knowledge of childhood development principles, literacy education, math instruction, and early childhood pedagogy is helpful Join us as a Substitute Montessori Teacher to foster independence and contribute to a nurturing environment in a supportive community committed to educating the whole child.
