Duties Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote literacy, math, physical activity, and social skills for toddlers. Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and positive behavior management. Conduct regular assessments of child development to tailor instruction and support individual learning needs. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child's progress, behaviors, and developmental milestones. Maintain detailed records of daily activities, lesson plans, and child observations in compliance with mandated reporting laws. Ensure safety by adhering to first aid and CPR protocols, maintaining cleanliness, and supervising children at all times. Collaborate with colleagues to plan classroom activities that incorporate Montessori methods or other early childhood education philosophies. Skills Proven experience working with children in a daycare or preschool setting, especially with toddlers. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management strategies, and classroom management techniques. Expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing literacy education for young children. Familiarity with special education needs, early intervention strategies, and inclusive teaching practices. Excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, and team members effectively. Ability to follow standardized testing procedures and incorporate developmental assessments into daily activities. Certification in first aid and CPR; knowledge of mandated reporting laws is required. Experience teaching physical education or incorporating movement-based activities into daily routines.
