Position:
Early Childhood Assistant Reports to: Principal
Supervises:
None
Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or GED required.
2. Satisfy Every Student Succeeds Act requirements by:
a. Completed at least 2 years of study (48 hrs.) at an institution of higher ed, or
b. Hold an associate's degree or higher, or
c. Obtained a National Career Readiness Certificate through successful completion of the
ACT, WorkKeys Assessment, or passed the Paraprofessional Assessment Test - Passing
Score is 455, or
d. Passed the Oklahoma General Education (OGET) Test.
3. Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Position Goal:
To have direct involvement with children for the majority of the day.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with teacher regarding instructional plans.
2. Assist with classroom lessons and activities.
3. Facilitate small/large group activities.
4. Facilitate center activities.
5. Support the class behavior plan.
6. Supervision of children during teacher plan period, lunch, and recess.
7. Assist children with restroom needs with necessary.
8. Perform all other duties as assigned.
Employment Terms:
Part-Time or Full-Time Nine (9) month classified hourly contract
