Job Description
https://little-star-home-preschool.webnode.page/ I am looking for a like-minded person to hire as an assistant and substitute when needed. We are flexible, and understand people get sick, have Dr. appointments, and lives outside of their job. Communication is important and that's all I ask for, as well as being fully present with the children when you are here. Our regular childcare hours are 8:00am-4:30pm, currently. This job is flexible and hours can range from 6 hours a week to 25, or sometimes more. There are two weeks in October where full-time is needed so hours do fluctuate. My program is Reggio Emilia inspired, we spend a lot of time outside, our activities and environment is child-led. The right person would be okay with messy art, messy play, helping children work through conflict and emotions, knowledge on developmentally appropriate expectations, redirection, and it would be helpful to know about certified childcare rules. You need to be comfortable in changing diapers and helping young children with hygiene when needed.
Requirements:
- Must be able to change diapers and lift infants/toddlers.
- ORO step 7 or higher preferred
- MUST have current CBR (background check) https://www.oregon.gov/delc/providers/pages/cbr.aspx
- Experience in ECE, at LEAST 1 year preferred
- Transportation (within walking and bus distance is fine)
- Have required trainings or ability to get them within 30 days; safe sleep, recognizing and reporting child abuse, pediatric first aid/cpr, foundations of learning, etc. Pay is dependent on a couple of things, but the range can be $16
- 20+ an hour.
